sweat moments

  • she has helped to fix my mom's condo curtain. she has got good hands at it, even better than myself

  • she has accompanied me and sat in the office lobby in Tanjong Malim for one whole day when she expects me to spend good time with her during one visit to KL, and i bought her the lousy tao-sa pao

  • she has to go shopping alone in Alamanda Putrajaya, when i have to be onsite supervising a lifting project in KLIA, and her GPS failed her, yet she managed to get me a new bed sheet

  • she experienced a bus breakdown during her very first visit to KL, two ways

  • she taught me how to keep fish in aquariums alive

  • she fell sick right before she had to board the car back to SG

I am lucky to have her

2010 Feedback

1. Don't plan too much, you always have to wait longer than you expected for things to fall in place. just get on with the job and opportunities will find you

2. 80/20 rule, don't feed people too full, so they will keep working hard and become more competitive. Though it will suppress talent, Sg dun need Steve Jobs & Microsoft, only need George Yeo & Mah Bow Tan and only 1 LKY. American education system allows creativity to flourish, but majority of the people suffers because of laziness. Great leaders must understand human behaviour.

3. Must impress people on the first 6 months on your new job. First impression matters a lot.

4. If you feed people too well in good years, very hard to take back in bad years.

5. Don't over down to earth, must be si kui.

2008...I wrote

In the year of 2008, I plan to...

  • drink less alcohol (yes, since they are more expensive in Singapore)
  • run a longer distance than half marathon (no)
  • Put 50% of salary into savings (try harder)
  • tone up my body..current weight 68kg (jia lat..70kg now)
  • go to Bangkok/India/China during the 2 months break (almost went to Phuket, only found out that airport was closed)
  • find a job (yes, managed to find one)
  • go to another continent that i have not set my feet on (no, australia could be the target, near + weak currency)
  • climb a mountain/rafting in Malaysia with my friends (drink only with friends)
  • ski down the black slopes in Alps (yes, and picked up snowboarding too)
  • buy a property..ok ...part of it (started to learn)

Still finalising my 2009 resolution. Tracing back what you actually wanted to achieve a year ago, and how have you fared is amazing.
